Whimsy Stamps - Cute Cupid - Be Mine

Hello!

I have a cute shaker card using the Cute Cupid stamp set today.

This time I coloured the little fellow with red briefs and gave him a blond top knot.

The background is made with Nuvo Glimmer Paste through a stencil.

I coloured my images with a mixture of distress ink and Zig markers.

Whimsy Stamps December Release Countdown Day 3

Hello!

It's almost time for our December release and today I have a cute spinner card for you featuring the Cupid Cutie.

To make the spinner card I stamped the image onto some Bristol Smooth paper and stamped again using a mirror image stamp. Then I coloured both images with my Zig Markers, cut them out and glued them together back to back with a piece of clear thread in between.

I cut a circle aperture in both my panel and card base and used the hearts stamp in the set to stamp around the edges of my circle in pink ink and stamped love also in pink ink at the bottom of the card.

I glued my panel to my base card, sandwiching the thread in between the layers with strong tape. I ink blended a sky on the panel for inside the card, and stamped the sentiment 'Love is in the air' as the bottom.
I finished the card with a few gems from Lucy's Little Things.

Links will be added for new products once the release goes live.

There are a bunch of deals going on in the store in December, so don't miss out!

Whimsy Stamps December Countdown Day 1

Hello!

It's time to start counting down to the December release from Whimsy Stamps.

Today my card is showcasing the Crazy for Chocolate stamp set and matching dies.

I stamped and heat embossed in white, all 4 of the individual chocolates from this stamp set. After colouring them with my Zig markers I cut them out with the matching dies.

I did some ink smooshing on some watercolour cardstock with a variety of pink dye inks and cut out my panel. Once completely dry I stamped a sentiment from the set in black ink at the bottom of my panel added a couple of strips of glitter tape above and then popped up my 4 chocolates on some foam tape above that.

I mounted my panel onto my card base with some strips of patterned paper behind.

I didn't add any additional embellishments as the glitter tape gave it enough sparkle.

The following sets will be available to buy in the Whimsy Store on the 7th December.

Whimsy - Winter Cheer

Hello!

I'm sharing a couple of bright and simple Christmas cards today made with the Snow Flurry Stamp Set and matching dies.
To make this card I first cut a panel of Bristol Smooth paper and did a little ink blending with Distress Oxide ink in Picked Raspberry, sprinkling some drops of water and blotting.

The snowflake was made by stamping with versamark ink on some Limelight Card Stock and heat embossing with white embossing powder and then cutting out with the matching die.
I stamped a sentiment from the Abstract Christmas stamp set on Limelight Card Stock and heat embossed that also, then cut out with a banner die.

I made an A2 card base from Razzle Berry Card stock, and adhered my panel, then popped up my snowflake and sentiment on the top with some foam tape. I finished with a few jewels from Little Things by Lucy's Cards

For my second card I did exactly the same as for the first card, just changing the colour of ink and cardstock and making a horizontal card rather than a vertical one.

These cards were so quick and simple to make you could always make a batch of them to cover your Christmas needs and even keep them individual just by changing up the colours/orientation like I did with these two.

MFT Stamps - Ski-sons Greetings

Hello!

I can't believe that it's less than 5 weeks until Christmas! Where on earth did that time go.

For once this year I am well ahead of the game when it comes to Christmas cards and I have been loving stamp sets that can be used beyond Christmas.
Ski-sons Greetings from MFT Stamps is just such a set as it has some fun seasonal images that are suitable for many winter cards and has a mix of fun sentiments that can cover Christmas, Birthdays and more.

I stamped my images onto some Bristol Smooth paper and coloured them with my Zig Markers and a water colour brush

The background was created using Distress Oxide inks and stencils. I didn't manage to nab the Drifts and Hills Stencil from MFT when it released, so I made one of my own, drawing freehand on some stencil material and then cutting out with scissors.

I cut the background with the new Mod Rectangle die-namics, mounting it on my card base and heat embossed a sentiment from the set with white embossing powder on Limelight card stock and cut out a frame using the Rectangle Word Window Frames die-namics.

I cut out my images with the matching die-namics and popped the bear onto a mini action wobble, popping the hat up with a little foam tape off to the side so that it looks like it's flown off of his head with the movement of the jump.

I finished the card by adding a few small snowflakes cut from glitter paper and some Nuvo Drops. The 30 in the top left corner was cut using a memory box die I've had for ages.

I used the following to make my card:

MFT Summer Splash Card Stock
MFT Limelight Card Stock
MFT Ski-sons Greetings Stamp Set
MFT Ski-sons Greetings Die-namics
Versafine Ink - Onyx Black
MISTI Stamping Tool
Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper
Zig Clean Color Markers
MFT Mini Cloud Edges Stencil
Distress Oxide Inks - Salty Oceam and Spiced Marmalade
MFT Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX Die-namics
Versamark Ink
Altenew Crisp White Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
MFT Rectangle Word Window Frame Die-namics
MFT Layered Snowflake Die-namics
Glitter Card Stock
Nuvo Drops - Morning Dew
Memory Box Classic Number Die

Hope you enjoyed my card today and thank you so much for visiting!

Whimsy Stamps/Lee Holland - Teddy Christmas

Hello!

I've been thinking about no line colouring a lot recently, experimenting with different colouring techniques is not something that I really get the time to do lately, but I have been wanting to try this out with my Zig Markers for some time.

However this technique was covered, using Copics (I have done the technique in Copics back when I used to colour with them), at the recent Whimsy Craft retreat, and although some of the steps didn't really work with Zig markers, I thought I would give it a go. Whilst the effect wasn't perfect (particularly as I did not have the right stamping ink with me!), it intrigued me enough to find some time to work on it at home. Due to time and work constraints, I had to do this in 2 separate sittings spaced some weeks apart, but I'm happy to say that I finally got it finished and on a card.

So this is Teddy Christmas, no lines water coloured with Zig Markers.

I used the following Zig Markers to colour him:

Turquoise Green, Persian Green, Pink, Dark Pink, Light Gray, Mid Gray and Dark Gray.

I fussy cut him out and popped him up on some foam tape on a card base made from Grout Gray cardstock with some pink gingham paper.

The Christmas is cut with an older discontinued Whimsy die from some pink glitter paper and the sentiment, stamped with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink, is from the St Nicholas stamp set.

I finished off with a few enamel dots.

Whimsy Stamps - Balancing Elf

Hello!

I have a little Whimsy Stamps inspiration for you today, but please excuse the lighting on my photo which isn't as great as i would like. The nights are really drawing in now, especially since the clocks went back an hour here and it really is very dark by the time I get home from work now.

Anyhooooooo.............I made this CAS card using last the rubber stamp 'Balancing Elf' from last month's release, which I stamped onto some Bristol Smooth paper and watercoloured with my Zig Markers, I really do seem to be using these all the time now.
Once finished I cut out my image with one of the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles dies and stamped in green with one of the Fadoodle stamps.

I cut some green gingham patterned paper with the largest of the Hand Stitched Rectangles, and adhered that to my card base, then I glued my image directly on top.
I stamped a sentiment from the Oh What Fun stamp set, masking off the first part of the sentiment, and cut a little banner in bright pink card stock to match the colour of the wrapping on the top present. To finish off I added a few Christmas Cheer enamel dots.

I do think that this year I've managed to make more Christmas cards than ever before, how about you, are you ready for Christmas, getting there, haven't even started yet?

I've included links to the items in the Whimsy shop below, you can get there by clicking on the image.

MFT Woofing you a Happy Birthday

Hello!

I have a fun little card to share with you today.

Using an older MFT Stamp Set, Birdie Brown's Lucky Dog, I first randomly stamped my little dog all over a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Black Versafine Ink, also stamping some paw prints from the same set.

I coloured these in with my Zig Markers and trimmed my panel with a large rectangle die and adhered it to a card base made with some Limelight card stock.
I coloured up an extra dog and cut that out with the matching Die-namics.

I stamped a sentiment from the set in black ink on a scrap of Limelight card stock cut out with a banner die from Blueprints 20.
I cut a panel of heavyweight vellum and adhered that, centering it over my base, and hiding the glue b
behind the elements. I added my banner and my little dog with some foam tape, and finished with a few enamel dots.

I hope you like it, this one was lots of fun to make.

Whimsy Stamps November Release Countdown Day 3

Hello!

It's day 3 of the countdown to the November release over at Whimsy stamps, and today my cards used the Leaf Foliage 2 die set and card 1 also uses the Happy Headlines stamp set from Wednesday's countdown.

I also used this die set on the card I shared for day one, but I used the dies to emboss rather than cut.

For the first card I used Distress Oxide Inks to colour my leaves and then used sprays made with Ken Oliver's Liquid Metals. I used some splatters of the liquid metals to decorate the white panel and also some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Copper Penny.

For my 2nd card I made a background panel using yellow and orange distress inks. I used some spatters of water and some white paint and also added a few spots of shimmer. I cut a circle from my panel of black cardstock and cut some leaves in black cardstock to look like silhouettes
I added the die cut word Serenity using one of the dies from the Gratitude die set
I popped up the panel with some foam tape on a black card base and
finished with a few clear sequins..

Hello!

It's time for day one of the countdown to the November release over at Whimsy Stamps and my card today uses the new

Happy Headlines

clear stamp set.

These sentiments make a great focal point for your card which is how I've used one today.

My sentiment is stamped with Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I've included the graphic for the stamp set below so that you can see what other sentiments are in the set, but I can't add a working link for your until the release is live on the 7th.

Oh and if you are wondering what I used to emboss my background, make sure you check out tomorrow's post!

Christmas Mail

Hello!

A while back I made a card using some dies from MFT and whilst I shared it on Facebook I totally forgot to share this creation on my Blog and on Instagram. So I'm rectifying that today.

I used some cute Christmas papers by Lemoncraft, the Mail Delivery Die-namics, the Mini Mail Die-namics, and the keyhole from the Lock and Key Die-namics all from MFT Stamps to make this card. Other dies are also from MFT Stamps but are no longer available.

Thanks for visiting!

Whimsy Stamps - Halloween Countdown

Hello!

Over at the Whimsy Stamps Blog we've been enjoying 31 nights of Halloween spooktacular!
It's a great event with loads of fun posts and prizes. Click on the banner above for details of how you can win a grand prize of

GRAND PRIZE $50 Whimsy Stamps Shopping Spree!!

We're almost to the witching hour, just 3 more days to go and today it's my turn to share something.
Now when you look at my 'Halloween' card, you'll see that it actually has a birthday sentiment on it. This is because in the UK we don't really send Halloween cards and our Halloween celebrations are really not so spectacular as over in the USA.
However, people DO have birthday's on or around the Halloween celebration, so this still counts as a Halloween card right?

I really wanted to give my card a fab spooky background, so I used my Distress Oxide inks to blend a moody night sky lit by the moon's glow, masking the moon and then colouring in later with a mix of Distress Oxide ink and a couple of grey toned Zig markers.

I coloured my vampire to coordinate with my background, with Zig markers and cut him out with the matching die. I die-cut the rest of my elements from black card stock, heat embossing my sentiment in white on top of my large gravestone and assembled my card.

I added a little ink and some Wink of Stella to some of my elements to give them a glow and sparkle, and added some dots of white pen and glitter pen to my sky to look like stars.

I mounted my panel onto a plain black card base and just like magic (black of course) my card was complete.

I've added all the Whimsy products used below, with links to the items.

I have a prize to giveaway today, so for the chance to win  please leave me a comment below telling me what you usually do to celebrate Halloween. You have till the 30th October to enter, and the winners will all be announced on the Whimsy Blog on the 31st.

Whimsy Stamps - Snow Flurry - Simple Cards

Hello!

I have a couple of simple Christmas cards to share with you that look impressive but actually take very little time to make.

My first card used the Snow Flurry Background Stamp and the Snow Flurry Clear Stamp Set.

I used some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper to stamp and heat emboss the background stamp and also to stamp and heat emboss one of the snowflakes from the clear stamp set.  I used Shaded Lilac distress ink over the back ground stamp and to accent the snowflake. The sentiment is from the St Nicholas Clear Stamp Set. I popped up my front panel on some craft foam and finished my card simply with some purple gems.

For my second card I stamped some of the Snow Flurry snowflake stamps onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I also stamped another sentiment from the St Nicholas stamp set and heat embossed that in gold to match.

I then did some ombre ink blending using Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral distress ink. After cutting out my panel I sprinkled a few drops of water and lifted a little colour for interest. I didn't have any gold cardstock so I embossed the edge of my card and then mounted my panel right on top so there was just a thin gold outline.
I finished the card with some Pale Gold Nuvo Drops.

Below you can find links to the items I used.

I'll be back later with a special Halloween post and a chance to win a prize!
