Pisces Tilda

My goodness it seems ages since I coloured up a Tilda. On top of that this Tilda has been in my stash for around 2 years now...eeek!

So she really does deserve an outing doesn't she?  I coloured her up with my Distress Ink Markers and matched her to these pretty papers from Maja Design.

I'm not 100% sure I like the way this came out if I'm honest, it's one of those things where I liked the finished card but then after seeing the photographs I'm a bit underwhelmed.

I do like the diamante swirls though, as I think they kind of look like splashes of water.

I can't remember all the colours I'm afraid as I didn't write them down, but I think I used Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Seedless Preserves, a mix of Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet (I think) and possibly Shabby Shutter for the lily pad?

The Ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and the flowers are a mix of The Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchid Crafts.

That's all from me for today, but I'll see you soon!

Beach Happy - Notebook

Morning all! I have a little notebook to share with you today. Remember me mentioning that I bought a Cinch? Well this is my first make with it. This was originally supposed to be for the Deep Ocean Seaside/Beach Challenge a couple of weeks  back, but I had a couple of weeks where everything just went horribly wrong and my crafting was somewhat curtailed.

But better late than never right?

I coloured up an older Saturated Canary digi that I've had for a long time called Cali Girl. I gave her a little yellow polka dot bikini and made the pages inside the notebook yellow too to match.

Colours from memory are I think:
Vintage Photo. Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Rasberry

The papers are various scraps of mostly older Maja design ones, and I made a little scene with some dies. I tried to keep stuff fairly flat as this was a notebook, and just finished off with a few enamel dots and a couple of Make it Crafty's fabulous chipboard words.  I inked the bottom and top pieces of chipboard in 2 different colour pink inks. The top one has a shimmery sheen to it.

I love how simple the Cinch made this to do and I will definitely be making some more in the future!

Bye for now,

Celebrate

Morning all! I found this card in my draft folder, apparently it was supposed to go live in July, but yours truly must have forgotten to hit 'publish' ...ooops.

Oh well, better late than never. so I'm sharing it today. Quite a simple card I made with some 12 x 12 paper from the Lemoncraft Neverending Summer collection plus seveal elements from the cut aparts sheet.

I simply inked and distressed all the straight edges and layered them up with foam tape and adding in some lace and a chipboard doily, stamping a sentiment with black ink on the little cut out banner..
Then I finished up with a bouquet of paper lilies ad leaves, some spotty organza ribbon and a few gems.

All in all it was a pretty quick card to make.

Have a great Friday!

Lee Holland - Mouse and Butterfly

Morning all! Our new challenge has gone live over at Deep Ocean Challenge and this time we want to see
'Things with Wings'

I've used a stamp from Whimsy's Lee Holland Collection from the July release called
Mouse and Butterfly,
(which like all of Lee's work is just adorable), and coloured it with my distress ink markers. I coloured this up a while ago now so I'm afraid I can't remember the colours exactly. I've also used one of Kay Fatula's beautiful butterflies from The Kreative Korner, so lots of wings on my card.

I've used some lovely papers and embellishments from The Ribbon Girl and I've listed those below. I inked the chipboard to tone in with my colour scheme.

I did use some Wink of Stella on the butterfly but as usual it has gone incognito in the photgraph!

That's all from me today but don't forget to check out the rest of the team's gorgeous creations and  I do hope you can join in with our challenge, you could win a lovely prize from our sponsor

I am Roses

See you soon!

Wryn - Hopping By

I can't believe it's been a week since I posted, sorry I've been so quiet, I've had a lot going on lately and I've been trying to catch up also on some much needed sleep.

It's another CAS card from me today. This is my daughter's birthday card and I don't usually make her a CAS one, but as I wasn't seeing her on her actual birthday, this one had to go in the post so I wanted to keep it flat enough for an envelope.

I used some Kaisercraft papers from an old pad in my stash, the bottom sentiment is from the same pad, the top sentiment is from Amy R stamps and the enamel dots are from Whimsy Stamps.

I coloured Hopping By Wryn from Tiddly Inks with my distress ink markers in colours to match the papers.

Colours:
Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Crushed, Olive, Shabby Shutters, Carved Pumpkin, Fired Brick, Pine Needles, Lucky Clover, Hickory Smoke.

I sponged around the edges of the image with Pumpkin Seed distress ink.

That's it! Super simple but I think she looks effective, even though him indoors groaned and made faces at my punny sentiment.

That's all for today but I'll be back tomorrow with some Candy to share.

Bye for now!

Lee Holland - Hedgehog in Pot for Whimsy Stamps August Release

Welcome to day 3 of the new rubber release from Whimsy Stamps, and before I share my make with you I just have to say thank you to everyone who left me lovely messages about my partner and my Dad, thank you so much it meant a lot to me.
I've been a little absent on blogger the last week, because on top of everything else my PC decided to flake out on me. Oh my goodness, so not what  I wanted, as it made it almost impossible to post stuff and then of course the time taken out to fix stuff meant I couldn't spend that time crafting. In the end a restore wouldn't fix it and I ended up having to re-install the whole operating system. All seems ok for now, so I'm playing catch up.

Also I noticed that I have reached 500 followers! How exciting, so this weekend I will sort out some lovely candy to share with you all!

Now back to the new release. I used the uber cute Hedgehog in Pot from Lee Holland, isn't he adorable?! I actually have a hedgehog living in my garden at the moment, so I just had to colour this one up lol!

I decided to make an oval card with this one, I've not made one for a long time. I also knew as soon as I saw him that I was going to match him with some papers from Pion Design's A Day in May. I don't have a lot of this older collection left, so it takes something special to make me dig into it!

I used my distress markers to colour the image:

Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Tattered Rose, Tea Stain, Vintage Photo, Mowed Lawn, Old Paper and Shabby Shutters.

I used some lovely embellishments from The Ribbon Girl, and a lovely butterfly from Kay Fatula's Etsy shop.

That's all from me today, I'm off to dig out some candy, but don't forget to catch the rest of the team's lovely makes over in the Facebook group

Have a fab Friday!

Fairy Fiona

It's time for the August release at Whimsy Stamps....hasn't that come around fast, I can't believe the speed at which the year is going by.
Monday saw the start of the Whimsy August 2016 Release Party over in our
The Whimsy DT will be sharing sneak peeks at the new products releasing today, so pop across and join us for games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes.

To join our release party event, just pop over to the Whimsy group any time during the week from Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 12th.
The August release is full of wonderful new images I was really torn between what to colour up first.

In the end I decided to go with a fairy, (always a good choice right?) and I decided that she needed pink hair because......well because why not?
If I was a fairy I would totally have pink hair....or maybe violet..or aqua...

Alright enough with the daydreaming, let's see the card. This is Fairy Fiona from the Art by Mi Ran collection.

I decided that her pink hair would look lovely with Maja Design's Enjoying Outdoors papers. Yes that's right, I broke my own golden rule and started colouring her before I chose my papers, but honestly, I did know that I had papers which would match.

I glittered her wings with Glamour Dust, but I burnished a lot of it off with my fingertip, because I wanted the subtle colour of her wings to show thorough the sparkle.  Of course that means it doesn't show up so well on camera...can't win them all I guess.

Distress Ink markers used were:

Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Milled Lavender, Blueprint Sketch, Shabby Shutters.

That's all from me today but I'll have more inspiration from the new release later in the week.

Enjoy your day!

Jeremiah Ketner - Mornings

Morning!
I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. My week has been a mixed bag really. Wednesday my partner was taken in briefly to the surgical assessment unit as he was taken ill at work and they decided to do some tests, so that was a bit of a worry. The bloods came back OK and they are sending him an appointment for an exploratory test/exam just to check what's going on. He seems fine for the moment so we'll wait for that which will hopefully shed some light on the problem.

Thursday as those of you who follow my blog will know was my parents Diamond Anniversary, 60 years of marriage....that's kind of wow right there. Sadly fate chose this day to throw one of the biggest TIAs (mini strokes) at my Dad (who's 86), that he's had over the last 4 years. Friday he had a fall and my Mum (who's 80 in October),  couldn't get him back up and they waited over 2 hours for the ambulance to come.

2 bloody hours. Lying on the floor, bruised and confused.

I can't even begin to tell you how mad and disgusted that makes me feel. It seems that if you are over a certain age in this country you're just not considered to be a priority.

He's stable for the moment, all thanks to my Mum and no thanks to any of the health care services down in Dorset who don't seem to give a shit, the doctor has not even been out to visit him. We'll see what the do come Monday.

I don't normally share too much of my private life on my blog, but really I needed to vent, so thanks for listening.

My card for today needs to be a little uplifting after all that, and I think it is. Recently I've finally made a little time to play around with the box of Prismacolor Pencils I got from Dan (my partner) for Christmas....yes I know, it's taken a while. I just wasn't happy before with what I did following tutorials, so I decided to find my own way on this more.

I coloured in this image Mornings from Jeremiah Ketner. This image has actually been in my folder for a long time, I bought it over a year ago, but I find the shading that appears on the uncoloured image difficult to work with when using distress inks, so I never coloured her up. With pencils though this isn't an issue.

I'm always confused by the name with this stamp, since to me she seems part of the night, surrounded by stars as she is.

I'm sorry  but as I was experimenting I do not remember the pencil colours I used for this, I'll try and write them down as I go next time.

I coloured her on some Stonehenge paper, just using the pencils themselsves to blend with each other and cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die from MFT.

The paper behind her is actually Christmas paper from the Websters Pages All That Glitters pad, I thought the starburst effect with the stars would look perfect.

I used some ribbed kraft cardstock behine that and also to cut out some stars with Stitched Stars Stax also from MFT and popped them up on some foam tape.

The sentiment from Your Next stamp is stamped with Memento ink on plain white cardstock and I cut it out with a fishtail banner die from the same company.

I finished embellishing with just a few clear gems keeping the whole thing pretty CAS.

I'm quite happy with the way she turned out, particularly her hair.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back in the week with a new Challenge At Deep Ocean and also the August release from Whimsy Stamps, which you're going to love!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Vintage - Diamond Wedding

Today I'm sharing rather a special card. Today is my Mum and Dad's Diamond Wedding anniversary. That's 60 years together....OMG......that's just an incredible amount of time to be married.
With all the health problems that my Dad has been having over the last couple of years, it's particularly poignant, as it's difficult to say whether he will either be here for the next and if so if he will remember enough to be aware.

So happy anniversary to my Mum and Dad! I can't be with them as I'm stuck at work on one of our busiest days of the year, but they are going to be spending a lovely afternoon celebrating with their friends at a social club they attend, so I hope they have a lovely day.

They should have already received this card, so I'm safe to share it here with you.

The base of the card is a white Pearlescent card stock and I have also used this for the sentiment, which is computer generated.

The papers for the layers are all neutral sheets from various Pion Design collections.

I used a heart stencil and some embossing paste, though I didn't think quite far enough ahead and ended up covering most of them with my layers.

I added cheesecloth and lace, some chipboard elements, some flowers and of course lots of little clear gems to give the suggestion of diamonds.

From The Ribbon Girl I used:
Chipboard Heart
Cheesecloth
Amanda Ivory Scalloped Lace
Veronica Ivory Flat Lace
Pearl and Crystal Branch
Ivory Open Rose
Rose Leaves

Thanks all from me today, but I'll see you soon.

Birdies on Corn

Morning all!

Just popping in with a quick make using Crissy Armstrong's Birdies on Corn stamp from Whimsy Stamps.

I coloured it with my distress ink markers and matched it to some pretty Galeria Papieru papers from the Field of Lilies stack.

I cropped them and gave them a pretty background with some distress ink, a blending sponge and a home made acetate mask.
The ribbon, lace and pearls are all from The Ribbon Girl

The fun sentiment was part of a gift from a blogging friend (thank you Maya) I thought it was perfect for this image.

That's all from me today, but I'll be back later in the week.

Have fun!

A Little Christmas Rudolph

Just popping in briefly to share another Christmas card with you....yup another. I looked in the bathroom mirror this morning and wasn't quite sure who I was anymore! :P

Anyhoooooooooooo,...............this card is also made with Christmas papers from Lemoncraft. There's no image but I made this little chipboard reindeer the focal point.

I used lot's of yummy embellishments here, some were from my stash, but the rest were from the Ribbon Girl, and I've listed that below.

Right that's all from me, going to be a busy week at work, I'm looking forward to the weekend already lol!
