Can I Ski Too?

Hello everyone. I'm happily crafting away at home, because today is a Bank holiday in the UK, so no work until tomorrow yay!

Well it finally happened, don't faint but I made my first Christmas card of the year, I know.....just a LITTLE later than I'd planned back at the beginning of 2015 lol.

Anyway this little image is just so cute I couldn't resist. This is I can ski too from the Candibean collection at Little Darlings Rubber stamps. She's coloured with distress ink markers and paired with some of the Vintage Frost Basics papers from Maja Design. I've put links to the products I've used at the end of my post.

All my edges are inked with Walnut Stain distress ink, and I've used lashings of Gesso too.

Well that's all from me today, enjoy your Monday! :) xx

Homespun Mini Album

*Warning, photo heavy post*
Happy Friday all! Welcome to my newest followers and a big heartfelt thank you to the rest of my followers who continue to stick with me through all my ramblings, I would not be here if it weren't for you :)

As it's Friday it must be time for another DT make for Dies to Die for. This week I have another mini album to share with you, I really love making these, though they can be a bit time consuming sometimes.

This one actually went together pretty quick, the page design is a simplified version of the pages  in my Say Cheese album, because I only had 1 6 x 6 paper pad to play with. I think it came out great!

This paper pad has a lot of 'homemade' elements to it and I picked up on that theme for my album and highlighted it with my choice of charms, also choosing some rustic ribbon and button twine to fit in with the whole feel of the album.

I've linked the products used at the end of my post.

I have a quick video of this project.

Items used

15 mm Red/Cream Rustic Gingham Ribbon
28 mm Gloria Ivory Fine Cotton Lace
Ivory Button Twine

I hope you like my make for today, I'll be back at the weekend with more to share, until then, happy crafting! :) xx

Brittany the Birthday Girl

Hello everyone! Friday has rolled around so quickly and I'm here to share a little Uptown Girl goodness today.

Recently my sister got in touch to ask me to make a card for her partner's mother who is turning 80. Now I know you are looking at this card and probably thinking....blimey, that's a bit bright for an 80 year old lady, but I think you can enjoy things a little 'out there' whatever your age, and my sister thinks she will love it.

To be honest the whole thing just screamed bright colours at me as soon as I saw the stamp, so I just had to go with it!

So this is Brittany the Birthday Girl and I coloured her with a mix of Distress Ink and Spectrum Aquatint Markers, the new(ish) Twisted Citron was perfect for the paper I chose. I've popped a list of items used with links for you at the end of my post.

I Do Mini Album

Hello everyone, and no the title does not mean I'm getting married again lol. I used a fabulous stamp from Stamping Bella, this is from the Close Ups range. Whilst trying desperately to sort my papers, I discovered that I had 2 of these MME Lost & Found Heirloom pads, both with just a few pages used, no idea how that happened, so I was looking for a project to use them up.  I decided to combine them with this stamp and make a mini album that would be suitable for an engagement or a wedding, maybe even an anniversary.

As I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't want to think too much I used envelopes for my pages. I used a project from Ginger of My Sister's Scrapper here as inspiration for the basic pages, but I didn't follow her tutorial as she used quite a different style of envelope which I could not get in the shape and size that I used, so I just did my own thing and kept it super simple. Basically I glued down the flap to the inside and then glued a square of design paper on top, making sure that I didn't apply glue to the area where there was an empty space, so that it left a pocket.
I did use Ginger's method for attaching the envelopes to Kathy Orta's Hidden Hinge binding.
The envelopes I used came with matching cards, and I used some of the cards to make booklet inserts to hold photographs.

Even though it's fairly simple I like the way it came out and you could fit quite a lot of photographs in this album.

I've added a list of items used at the end of my post.

I covered my album with some neutral card stock and then matted with the design papers on black cardstock. I matted the image (coloured with Copics) onto some black cardstock also and popped a die cut doily behind, then I used some gorgeous mulberry flowers , a metal key and some beautiful pearl and diamante bling to embellish.

I covered the spine with some lovely ruffled trim and added 3 shades of pink seam binding which I scrunched to make more vintage looking and some charms.

Some pictures of the inside.

I made a little envelope again with my envelope punch board.

On the inside back cover I cut a large heart with a Whimsy die and stamped the sentiment that comes with the image stamp.

It's very difficult to show you everything in photographs, so I have a video below so you can see allthe pockets and interactive stuff better.

Vintage Swim Waterfall Folio

Hello everyone! I'm running a little late with this post so I hope you'll forgive me. I have something a little different to share with you today.

Recently I've been sharing a few mini albums with you, and this is along those lines but a little simpler. I found this great waterfall folio project on My Sister's Scrapper (you can see the original inspiration here) and I thought I would give it a try as it seemed so quick.

After making a prototype following the tutorial, I changed things around just a little and made the one below. I decided to use Pion Design's Shoreline Treasures collection for this as I had quite a few left over papers in my stash and I only had to buy a couple of additional pages. I also thought the girl on one of the images reminded me quite a lot of the Saturated Canary digi Vintage Swim, so I thought I would use her on the front along with some maritime themed dies, and this made her perfect for my DT contribution to Deep Ocean Challenge's new challenge 'Maritime'. Pop across there if you would like to enter or just need some great inspiration, I have some uber talented team mates!

Anyway, this is what I made.

I coloured the stamp with distress inks to echo the image from the paper shown below.

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Fired Brick
Hair: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain
Outfit: Faded Jeans, Fired Brick (I've also used a white Posca Pen to add the spots and piping)
Background: Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass.

All my edges are inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink for a slightly vintage feel.

I used a lot of charms on the spine.

I also have a video uploaded on YouTube, you can watch below or follow the link if you prefer to watch on YT.

I used the following products on my make:

Walnut Stain Distress Ink
La-La Land Crafts Under the Sea Die Set
(Dies to Die for should have these in stock in the future)

You can find the original tutorial I followed here.

That's all from me today, I hope you enjoyed my project and that it inspired you to make something yourself :) xx

Wineoclock

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!  I've been spending a lovely few days with my daughter who is visiting with me for her birthday, so I've not really been very active on blogger, but I do have a few days still off work once she returns, so I'll be trying to catch up on my blog visiting then.#

Today it's a new challenge over at the Ribbon Girls challenge blog and it's the regular
Anything Goes with an Image.
So you can make anything you choose as long as it has at least one image on it.

I made this card for my daughter's birthday, she's just had her hair cut a bit shorter and she does love a glass of wine lol, so I thought it would be perfect for her.

The image is called Wineoclock she's a Saturated Canary digital stamp drawn by the super talented Krista Smith,  and you can purchase her here, she's part of a bundle.

I coloured her with my distress ink markers and matched her to some digital papers from Michele R Designs' new collection 'Delicate Florals' though I haven't used any of the floral papers. These patterned papers in the collection are really striking, LOVE the colours. The beautiful butterfly is from Kay's Kreative Korner. I used CC Designs Make a Card #4 and CC Designs Big Pierced and Stitched Rectangles. I inked all my edges with Pumice Stone distress ink.

I used the following Ribbon Girl embellishments on my card

Why not have a go at this super easy challenge, you could win a lovely prize and check out the rest of my team mates' makes, they are rather spectacular!
That's all from me today, but I'll be back with you really soon  :)  xx

Mini Album Winner.

Good morning! (well it's morning here anyway), I hope you are all enjoying the weekend so far. Later today I will have some Candy to share with you, but right now I'm announcing the winner of my

Please send me an email to

linda.levoir@gmail.com

with your snail mail and I will get it packed up and sent out to you.

Thank you so much to everyone who left me a comment,  I will be giving another mini album away a bit later this month.

I do find it very difficult with working, crafting, blogging, filming videos and having a bit of a social and family life, to leave comments on people's blogs and FaceBook makes as often as I would like (though I always visit and look). Sometimes it all gets a bit on top of me, I really do not know how some of you manage, I feel like I need a machine to make me more hours in the day sometimes lol! and this is one of the reasons that I'm running several giveaways this month, to celebrate my 2 year blogversary and by way of saying thank you to my followers for sticking with me and commenting even though I don't always comment back.

As August is a time I take a short break and spend some time with my beautiful grown up daughter on her birthday I thought I would stagger the giveaways I have planned through the month.
I can't show you what they all are as that would spoil the fun, but I can tell you what kind of giveaways they are.

  • A variety of rubber stamps including Saturated Canary, Candibeans and La-La Land Crafts.
  • A Mini Album.
  • A Waterfall Folio
  • A 2nd variety of rubber stamps including Saturated Canary, Candibeans and La-La Land Crafts
  • A pre-cut Kit for making a Waterfall Folio

So do stay tuned for those.

Hugs to you all! :) xx
